Indigenous Peoples Month and The 27th Year Indigenous Peoples Rights Act (IPRA)


 The theme "Mga Katutubo at Katutubong Dunong: Pahalagahan, Pangalagaan at Parangalana." (Valuing, Nurturing and Honoring Indigenous Peoples and Indigenous knowledge.)  Every month of October, the Philippines celebrates the Indigenous People Month, recognizing their rich and unique traditions and cultures across the nation. the 2024 marks a significant milestone with the 27th anniversary of the Indigenous Peoples Rights Act (IPRA), a law that protects the rights of the indigenous people

The observance of National Indigenous Peoples Month 2024 serves as a powerful reminder of the legal and cultural protections afforded to Indigenous communities. The law Indigenous Peoples Rights Act ensures that every indigenous people's right, self-governance and cultural practices are protected.

By valuing and protecting this knowledge, we not only help preserve their culture but also encourage sustainable practices that can benefit the whole country. It’s a reminder that the wisdom of Indigenous people can teach us important lessons about living in harmony with the environment. 

It is essential for everyone to support the rights of the indigenous people, respect and honor their cultures and traditions.

Time doesn't really stop right? It's unbelievable that second quarter is coming to an end. . The second quarter has surely taught me a lot. I gained new experiences in coding, particularly the HTML. About I, Myself and My future Plans

 I am Jediel Rinnah Joy Arlantico, I was born on may 22, 2009, and I am 15 years old. I live in Cabaroan, Sta. Catalina Ilocos Sur, I am currently studying in Ilocos Sur National High School. I am the youngest among our family , I have one older brother who is 1 year older than me and my father's occupation is a bank manager and my mother's occupation is a house wife.  Our country faces significant challenges such as typhoons and since Philippines is along the Pacific Ring of Fire it is also prone to earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. The challenges faced by the Philippines also includes lack of education and poverty. In response, the Philippines established earl warning systems in order to alert the people in the place that the typhoon is gonna hit, this also helps them to prepare and evacuate immediately. Additionally, in response to the poverty and lack of education, the government tried to improve the Philippine's education through k-12 basic education program and in response to poverty, policies from the government helps promote economic growth.
