Valentine's Day is celebrated because, over the centuries, it has become a day to dedicated and express our love and affection to our partner, family and friends. It originated as a Christian feast day honoring a martyr named Valentine, and through later folk traditions it has also become a significant celebration of romance and love all over the world.
Some people express their affection by giving gifts and lover letters, spend quality time with their pertner, family or friends. But as a person who doesn't really celebrate it, I still express my affection by hanging out and spending time with my friends and family, and spending time with them itself is enough for me to show my affection towards them.
