Vigan Cityhood

 The Vigan City, located in the province of Ilocos of  has surely made a big and significant difference now. A city that was once a municipality, now blossomed into one of the historically significant and full of rich  cultures and traditions cities in the Philippines.

Vigan back then, in its early years, was once a primarily small and quiet town. During the time when the Spanish arrived and established the town, Vigan, its cobblestone streets and charming Spanish-era architecture were already beginning to take shape. Under Spanish rule, Vigan developed a distinct colonial architecture that blends both Spanish and local Filipino elements, giving it a unique character. The town’s layout, which features a grid of streets and open plazas, was carefully planned to facilitate trade, governance, and social interaction. The economy was also supported by the production of crafts, including pottery, weaving, and woodcrafts, which remain integral parts of Vigan’s identity today.

Now, Vigan has become a vibrant city, with a lot of improvements in its infrastructure, including better roads, modernized utilities, and more accessible transportation links to other parts of the country. it stands as an example of how cultural preservation can coexist harmoniuosly. Vigan today continues to attract visitors from all over the world, with its ancient and ethereal features. With its growing population, it also helps in boosting the city's identity and local economy while also benefitig the residents and local workers of  Vigan. As of today Vigan City still continues to shine bright as one of the province of Ilocos Sur's precious treasure.

Sparks of Another Goals of The New Year

 It's new year, it's 2025! I have been given another year of life to cherish, love and nurture.

As the year 2025 starts, I am yet again ready to face new challenges and obstacles to overcome. And as I start the year, of course I had already planned three goals I want to achieve and accomplish in the twelve months of 2025. I hope that as I share what I had planned, I might as well inspire and encourage you to achieve and accomplish yours too.

My first goal that I want to achieve and accomplish is to improve myself. I want to boost my confidence, be more expressive and can easily adapt other people who tries to hang out with me, because I'm still somehow frightened by the thought of socializing as I can't avoid being self-conscious especially when I'm around to people that I am not close with. 

I would also like to improve my academic skills. As a slow learner, it is sometimes hard for me to focus in studying as I get easily distracted and there are also some subjects that are difficult for me to catch up. And because of these challenges I faced I was motivated to excel more in school, I want to slowly try to avoid any distractions in my surroundings and focus when studying.  I will aim to be more motivated for me to continue walking on my path towards my success.

Lastly, I want to achieve and accomplish, well it might sound funny but, I want to save up money and try not to spend it. Last year I tried to save up money but I ended up spending it on unnecessary things. I promise to myself that the I will use the money I can save up this year for important purposes or buy what I want with my own money. I will try my very best to manage my money and use it responsibly. 

New Year, New Me. This year, I will aim to make changes and improvements of myself.

My Twelve Days of Vacation; Christmas holiday and New Year

Hey there ka-bigueño! As I'm about to write my experiences during my twelve days of vacation, I want to say that I hope you have enjoyed your twelve days of  vacation with your family and friends with happiness and joy as well.

Within the twelve days of my vacation, me and my family didn't really went out to go to some tourists places, in short, we mostly just stayed in our house or go to the farm to check on our crops and planted some vegetables. We also went on a camp with me and my relatives, on my father's side. It might sound boring and not fun at all for you, am I right? But for me, it wasn't boring as you think it is, in fact, I actually enjoyed it, I had fun at the farm: Relaxing, inhaling fresh air, help my parents plant some vegetables and water our crops. 

Do you want to know why I enjoyed it so much even though it's not a fancy place where we can take pictures together and post it on social media? Because I get to spend more quality time with my family, we were able to share our joyful laughter and smiles, we were able to share how our day went, we were able to enjoy the littlest things like planting and harvesting together.

But, I did not only spend my time with my family, I also spent time and reunited my two elementary friends after a while of not seeing each other due to our incompatible schedules in school. I was very much ecstatic and enthused that I got to spend two days to hangout with my elementary friends. I was delighted that we have caught up with each other, share some stories: of how we are doing, how our student life is going on, and many more. It somehow made me feel like we were once again in elementary sitting on our armchairs inside our classroom, talking and sharing stories to each other while waiting for our next subject teacher. I felt so happy that we got see and have time for each other again.

And lastly, as we end the year 2024, we, on my mother's side, gathered together and prepared for the welcoming of the new year. At exactly 12:00 AM, loud beeps of motorcycles, loud sounds from the torotots of the children who were anticipating the moment, loud pangs from the stainless pots can be heard and pops of the beautiful sparks of fireworks in the dark sky with shining glitters (the stars) scattered and the moon lighting and watching us in the dark as we celebrated the new year with another set of challenges to face and to surpass. 

However, during the celebration of new year and Christmas, I was a little bit sad as my cousin, who have withered away from this world last march 2024, cannot be with us, it was painful for me that we were celebrating our Christmas and new year without her for the first time. :(

Always remember, the importance of Christmas is about spending quality time with family and friends even in just a short span of time. Share laughter, smiles and stories to each other. Most especially, it is very crucial in our daily lives to always spend time with our mighty Jesus Christ.
